On Ramp

Receive an industry-recognized certification in advanced manufacturing in a matter of months through On Ramp

The On Ramp program will pay for training, tuition and books you need for a manufacturing certification from the National Institiute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS). NIMS sets the standard for industry skills, while constantly updating these standards to keep up with the latest technology and processes so that you will always be on the cuting edge of your field. As a nationally and industry-wide recognized program, a certification from them will get you where you want to be, regardless of where in the country you wish to pursue your career. NIMS works to connect qualified individuals so that when you get your accreditation you’re already on the radar for employers looking for qualified individuals.

You will have access to career-building workshops such as resume writing, interviewing techniques and much more, with our local partners. Build up your credentials and experience to have the skills to be recognized across the nation through rigorous and in-depth training sessions with experienced and active industry professionals that will get you ready for a career in the advanced manufacturing industry.

To qualify for the program you must:

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • be eligible for unemployment benefits
  • be a dislocated worker (laid off through no fault of your own)
  • have met Selective Service requirements
  • be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • not be in default of student loans

On Ramp is supported by state-level Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Rapid Response funds.
