Maybe you’ve heard about the training gap: There are more job openings than there are trained people to fill them. If you’re looking for a new career path or a way to advance in the maritime or construction fields, we may have the answer for you at the TCC Skilled Trades Academy in Portsmouth.
The Skilled Trades Academy provides short-term training for in-demand construction and maritime trades, including marine coating, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, pipelaying, roofing, framing, and electrical.
This new 20,000-square-foot learning center offers hands-on, state-of-the-art instruction and is outfitted with the latest industry tools and equipment furnished by industry partner Stanley Black & Decker. Conveniently located on Airline Boulevard, the academy offers day, evening and weekend programs.
Training programs are designed to prepare you for immediate employment in the skilled trades in as few as three weeks. TCC partners with regional employers in the shipbuilding and construction industries to ensure our students are prepared for immediate job placement and pre-apprenticeship opportunities. Plus, you might be able to apply your skills and knowledge toward one of TCC’s degree programs.
For information about the Skilled Trades Academy, contact Stan Ashemore, program administrator, at email@example.com or 757-822-2116.
For military-related students
The Center for Military and Veterans Education (CMVE) provides career coaching and transition services for veterans and their families to help translate military experience into a civilian career.
Nothing says you’re ready to do the job like industry-approved credentials. But if cost is a barrier, TCC might be able to help.
